| About Our Beagle Jewelry |
| I’ve made a number of different beagle jewelry designs throughout the years, but my current crop is probably my favorite. A bit of beagle lore: Beagles have been in England since the Renaissance (1500s). They love to “sing”, but are quiet indoors. In England beagles are used to hunt hare and rabbit. More amazingly to me, in Scandinavia they are used to hunt wild pig and deer. Aren’t wild pigs pretty rough customers? I don’t think I’d want to pit a beagle against a wild pig. And how could they possibly keep up with a deer? Maybe they have a special super breed of beagles over there, or even more possibly, I’m just showing my ignorance! I’ve met a few beagles, and they seemed to be polite dogs. They are a nice size, but I’ll bet they need a lot of room to run and play. I’ve read that they aren’t really known for being especially obedient and can wander off if a gate is left open. My brother has a couple of beagles living next to him in Kentucky- Jeff is a real cat kind of guy and finds the beagles rather boisterous and loud. But what can you do? You just can’t convince the cat only people of the wonderful qualities of dogs and vice versa. I prefer to remain neutral in such matters. But here you see my beagle jewelry collection, and I hope you find something appealing! |
