About Our Ladybug Jewelry
I’ve lots of ladybug jewelry designs, from dangling earrings to post earrings and even a pretty necklace with two glass beads. I’m happy with the look and think they look close to the real thing with just a dash of the Magic Zoo “ambiance”.

Ladybugs are, as most people know, the gardener’s friend. But did you know that a baby ladybug (the not so pretty larva) also gobbles up the bad bugs? Aphids, those garden- ruining bugs are the target of their voracious appetite. Ladybugs, or ladybirds as they’re called in Great Britain, seem to have a wide range. Ladybugs are raised commercially and sold to farmers as a natural means of insect control. This started as long ago as the end of the 19th century, when a scale insect from Australia ended up infesting the citrus groves in California. One lady bug, native to that country, was introduced to California and got those scale insects under control.

Ladybugs come in many different color variations. In Ohio I grew up with the red ones with black spots – I suppose that’s what I think of when I think “ladybug” and why my ladybug jewelry looks the way it does!

But I’ve seen photos of brown ladybugs with stripes, yellow ladybugs just covered in black dots, red ladybugs that have sort of a black swirly pattern and a lot of other creative variations.

But if you like the “traditional” ladybug design, you’ve come to the right place! My ladybug jewelry is cast and then individually painted.
